Research Area 2: Mineral Exploration

MINERAL EXPLORATION

CGEM research focuses on efficient and economical data acquisition, joint inversion of multiple geophysical and geological data, and machine learning integration to extract information for decision making. Our research is rooted in Mines’ 150 years of history in mineral exploration and 100 years of history in exploration geophysics research, leverages 25 years of research in geophysical inversion and subsurface imaging, and supported by the modern applied mathematics and machine learning.
